adidas Celebrates Toronto with NBA All-Star 2016 Uniform and Apparel Collection
adidas today unveiled the uniforms and apparel collection for the 65th NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 14 in Toronto. The uniforms are designed with elements native to Canada and pay homage to Toronto’s NBA history, passionate basketball fans and cosmopolitan energy.
The red-and-white Western Conference and white-and-blue Eastern Conference uniforms feature a maple leaf overlay on the front of the jerseys as a tribute to the national symbol of Canada, while Toronto’s cityscape is featured across the back of the uniforms to represent the host city.
Clean, single-layered fonts are a nod to the NBA’s early days in Toronto, where the first NBA game was played on Nov. 1, 1946 between the Toronto Huskies and New York Knickerbockers.
A star patch that incorporates a combination maple leaf and NBA logo are displayed on the upper back of the uniforms while black-and-gold jock tags feature the Toronto Raptors’ alternate team colors and claw logo. The colors of the nations’ flags represented at NBA All-Star intersect in a grid detail featured on the jersey’s neck liner and the shorts’ draw strings.
The NBA All-Stars will sport warm-ups that embrace Toronto’s winter fashion and style. Black and heather gray fleece jackets include star patches that acknowledge the number of NBA All-Star appearances for each player, while patches on the right zipper pocket call out the game’s top accolades including: Kia NBA Most Valuable Player, Kia NBA Rookie of the Year, NBA All-Star Game MVP and NBA Championships. The on-court warm-ups also include a performance fleece shooting shirt and tapered pant with white and gold trim.
NBA All-Star merchandise will also be available on NBAStore.com.

Q&A with Adarian Barr on the Development of Barr Footwear
Adarian Barr is changing human locomotion with his creation of Barr Footwear a handcrafted tailored made to fit shoe that is very functional.
Tell us a little about your self.
My name is Adarian Barr and I am an inventor. I have invented about 9 devices from footwear to sleds to exercise devices. I am a USATF Level II coach in the sprint, jumps hurdles and relays. I have a masters degree in Physical Education and have been a track coach and a college lecturer along with various other jobs in my life.

I have a masters degree in Physical Education and have been a track coach and a college lecturer along with various other jobs in my life.
What inspired you to develop Barr Footwear?
I have been working on designing footwear for about 10 years. The first foray was when I started cutting shoes because they just didn't feel right. People thought I was weird for doing it and now we have NIKE free and a host of other shoes that basically does the same thing. Also just was tired o buying a pair that I like and then 5 months later it wasn't available and the same style new model was totally different. I stop wearing sock a long time ago as I felt them to be too restrictive. The main idea was to find something that allowed me to interface with the ground better regardless of the surface. Something that is functional over looks.
What are the main challenges you face when designing the Barr Footwear?
The main challenge was the concept of not using a shoe last to make footwear. Barr Footwear uses just a trace of a person foot. So you get footwear that fits your foot every time.
What are your future goals for Barr Footwear?
Future goals is just educating people that footwear should fit, function and look good.

Q&A with Nyack High School’s Track & Field Athlete Ariana “Weezus” Marsland
Ariana Marsland while only in the 7th grade competed
at the High School level. Everyone she competed with was several years older
than her but she stood her ground and made an impact to her team while earning
a spot as lead off leg on the varsity 4x100 relay. By being the youngest on the
team Ariana had to work harder and be more confident while on the track. She
is already running a solid 100m in a consistent 13.2s and knows that she will only
get faster over time.
Q: How old are you and
what school do you attend?
A: I am 12 years old
about to be 13 in October and I attend Nyack Middle School but run for Nyack
High School varsity team.
Q: How did you get the
nickname “Weezus”?
A: Well I have asthma
and after a long day of training I wheeze a little before I take my pump. So my
teammates started calling me Weezus.
Q: When did you first
start running track and field?
A: I started running
track when I was about 5 or 6 years old. My parents would take my brother and I
to compete at track meets in the New York area. My parents helped start up a
track club which I was a member of and this gave me the foundation to run,
teaching me the correct running techniques, form and to compete against some
top runners. So when I signed up for the High School team I had the base
already and the coaching staff took me under their wing and gave me tough
workouts to make me a stronger athlete. Though I still have another year left
before I even enter High School I will only get better and learn from my peers.

Adidas Introduces X and ACE
Only two types of player – the game changer and the play maker – define the modern game
Today, there are only two types of players - those that cause chaos and those that control everything. The best managers, players and minds have spoken – soccer has changed. For the first time, these two distinct types of player will have their own cleats. Today, adidas introduces X and ACE.Some players can never be controlled. They are the spark that ignites a game. They defy rules and structure. The moment of genius that gets the crowd off their seat – that’s their speciality. There is no defense and no tactic that can control them. These players are specialists in chaos. Thomas Müller, Gareth Bale, Luis Suárez, Karim Benzema and Álvaro Morata, these players strike without a moment’s notice. For them, adidas has created X15.
Some players are born to control. They are the ones that pull the strings and set the pace. Every great team needs the players that keep it on track. That bring the coaches plans into action. They bring order to a chaotic game. Players like Mesut Özil, James Rodríguez, Oscar, Manuel Neuer and Ivan Rakitić are the glue of some of the world’s best teams. For these players, adidas has designed ACE15.
Some of the world’s best players will wear ACE15 and X15 for the first time at the UEFA Champions League Final in Berlin on Sat., June 6, with the cleats available to purchase starting July 1 at adidas.com, adidas Sport Performance stores and specialty retailers worldwide.

PUMA Launches IGNITE Your City Series
IGNITE Film Series Features Epic Runs in Ten Cities Globally
PUMA launched the Ignite Your City film series after unveiling the new-to-market PUMA
IGNITE running shoe a week prior. Ignite Your City features ten global
running crews as they ignite their respective cities by pushing the bounds of
their run while wearing the new PUMA IGNITE.
They do it for the bragging rights, to accomplish their dream run, to
inspire their city’s greater running community and for the joy of pushing their
runs to new heights.
As part of this epic running series featuring the
all-new PUMA IGNITE, Japanese runners marked the first stop with Tokyo. Five runners ran five, 5-kilometer races in
five cities. To demonstrate the maximum
energy return and durability of PUMA IGNITE, they did it all in 24 hours.
Starting in Tokyo, the runners took off to Kyoto, the first stop of their run. After a quick warm-up at the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine in Kyoto, they raced through the city, logging their first 5K before hopping back on the high-speed train.
Next up was the fea fields of Shizouka with Mount Fuji looming in the distance. A race through the cityscapes of Nagoya followed, and their final stop before heading back to Tokyo was the uphill park trails to the castle in Hamamatsu. One last high-speed train ride dropped them back off where they began in Tokyo. Winding through tight streets and trafficked intersections, they made their way to a celebratory finish in Shibuya Crossing.
